Oregon knocked off Utah 37-15 in the PAC-12 title game. With two losses, and only one top 25 win, the Utes will fall below the Big 12 champ and not make the playoff.
The Big 12 champion should be in the playoff if LSU can beat Georgia tomorrow. Georgia would have two losses and not be the conference champion. Most worrisome, the Bulldogs would have one of their losses to 4-8 South Carolina. LSU-Georgia is at 3:00 on CBS.
Clemson takes on Virginia at 6:30 tomorrow on ABC. It’s possible Clemson would drop out of the top four with a loss. The Tigers have zero top 25 wins. But as the defending champs, and with dominant wins in 11-of-12 games, I don’t feel as confident about 12-1 Clemson getting jumped by Baylor.
The easy version: Baylor beats Oklahoma, and LSU beats Georgia, then barring absolute nonsense, Baylor is in. I’m 99% confident Baylor makes it with those two events.
Baylor takes on Oklahoma at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow on ABC.
