Baylor (8-4) battles TCU (11-1) at 3:00 today at TCU. The game airs on ESPNU. The Horned Frogs are seven point favorites.
We will return to the long previews for the Iowa State game. But for now, here are three keys to the game.
1) Limit Alex Robinson’s dribble penetration- TCU’s point guard is one of the league’s five best players. The Bears had been on a great defensive run last season, then Robinson sliced Baylor’s zone. Once he gets inside, he’s deadly:
2) Shoot at least 35% from three- This is a tough request for a Baylor team that ranks 322nd in 3-point percentage. But the Bears are underdogs in this game. They have to perform a little out of sorts to win this game.
3) Get the ball to Tristan Clark- The Horned Frogs have elected to not double team some big men. The Bears’ best player feasts in single coverage. They need to get him the ball.
Prediction:
Winning on the road in the Big 12 is incredibly difficult. TCU is a much better defensive team, and their current top 25 KenPom status might even be low because they played three games without Jaylen Fisher.
I hate to say it, but I think TCU wins. The Bears aren’t quite hitting enough shots to withstand any big TCU run, and I think they’ll eventually make a run. I have TCU winning 68-60.
