Pro Football Focus grades each snap and takes into account what each player has control over. In Brewer’s case, the organization adjusted his competition numbers to 27-of-31 because of four dropped passes by Baylor wide receivers.

Brewer split time with Jalan McClendon the first two weeks. That decision was understandable, especially with McClendon outplaying Brewer in week one. But with Brewer’s strong play against UTSA, and his added ability to throw once the pocket collapses, he may quickly become the guy on every series.
