Baylor Baseball, fresh off earning an automatic qualifying bid by winning the Big 12 Championship, anxiously awaited their placement during the NCAA Selection Show:

Thanks to the Bears late season efforts, Baylor was awarded a regional 2 seed. That’s the good news. The bad news is the Bears are the regional 2 seed in Stanford’s regional. Stanford is the #2 overall team in the country. So the Bears will have their work cut out for them if they want to make it out of that regional. But Baylor has been one of, if not the, hottest team(s) in the country. They’ve won 22 of their last 25 games and 6 straight. The Bears will need to bring that strong pitching and hitting that has gotten them to this point to advance.

Stanford is this region’s 1 seed, Baylor is the 2 seed, Cal State Fullerton is the 3 seed, and Wright State is the 4 seed. Baylor will open up tournament play this Friday at 4:00 PM CT as they face off against 3 seed Cal State Fullerton:
