The Game Was Over When

TCU remained competitive during the first three minutes of the game then Amy Okonkwo picked up two fouls in the course of 7 seconds and went back to the bench. It was like a huge weight was suddenly lifted from the Lady Bears as they took off on a 20-7 run and closed out the 1st Quarter leading 28-13. Kalani Brown’s 13 1st quarter points was as much as the entire TCU team.

OBF’s Thoughts on Playing Moon Ursin

Freshman Moon Ursin is a high quality basketball player. Coming out of High School she was three time Louisiana Player of the Year. A feat no one else has ever accomplished. She is the most athletic on the team.

Moon has seen a lot of bench time as Coach Mulkey has developed Didi Richards and Alexis Morris throughout the season. This gives rise to an unselfish Lady Bear team sometimes forcing the ball to Moon placing her in some rather awkward positions. Although I’m sure this will pay dividends further down the road as she learns to deal with some of the unnatural three on ones, it has at times made her appear to be struggling at the college level more than we like to see in a freshman Lady Bear. While Moon has made some freshman mistakes, I’d like to see the Lady Bears treat her with the respect of being just a regular member of the team and remember to run their offense with just a little lower level of charity than they are want to bestow.
