The Lady Bears and Froggets just played two weekends ago in Fort Worth where the Lady Bears torched the Horned Frogs 85-53. In today’s game the Lady Bears are playing without international star point guard Kristy Wallace who was Baylor’s leading scorer in the last game against TCU with 19 points.

Wallace suffered an ACL injury in the regular season finale against West Virginia on Monday.

Baylor’s Kristy Wallace was selected espnW National Player of the Week on Jan. 29 after playing a leading role in the Lady Bears’ 2-0 week. The senior guard had led Baylor in scoring in two games, netting a career-high 27 points against No. 6/6 Texas and pouring in 25 at No. 19/20 West Virginia. Wallace shot a team-high 66.7 percent from the floor and a team-high 62.5 percent from three-point range, accounting for all five made three-pointer for Baylor on the week. The Loganholme, Queensland, Australia native averaged 26.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, logging 39.0 minutes per game.

Freshman guard Alexis Morris started in Kristy’s stead yesterday in the quarter-finals in which the Lady Bears steam rolled the Kansas State Wildcats 83-54. Morris has seen significant minutes this season as Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey has been bringing Morris along as Wallace’s understudy all season long.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a 90-83 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the quarterfinals.

In the last matchup between these two teams, Baylor went on a 13-0 run to start the game. Today’s game should be about the same with Baylor running away early and never looking back. They are that good.
