Big 12 MBB Preview Final Four

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Midwest Regional-Kansas vs Duke Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Well Kansas is the only Big 12 MBB team still competing this season, so their Final Four matchup is the only game to preview in this post.

#1 Kansas vs. #1 Villanova

Saturday, March 31 7:49 PM CT, TBS

The only semi-final game featuring a one seed features two as one seed Villanova (34-4) takes on one seed Kansas (31-7). The Jayhawks have beaten 16 seed Penn, 8 seed Seton Hall, 5 seed Clemson, and 2 seed Duke to get to this point. All of those games beside the Penn game were decided by 4 point margins. Villanova has defeated 16 seed Radford, 9 seed Alabama, 5 seed West Virginia, and 3 seed Texas Tech. Kansas is the third Big 12 team Villanova has faced in a row. Will they be able to eliminate the Big 12 and make it to the championship game? Maybe. Both teams are prolific offensive teams with serviceable defenses. This game will come down to who gets their threes falling and who doesn’t. While Villanova, statistically, is the team most likely to get their offense rolling, something in my gut says they won’t be able to clear all three of the Big 12’s top teams back to back to back. Kansas in a close, exciting game.

86-84 Kansas.
