After the two teams went toe-to-toe well into the fourth quarter of a game just 13 days ago in Waco, the third-ranked Baylor Lady Bears' trip to Stillwater, Okla., on Tuesday looked like one of the biggest road blocks left in what's been a smooth path to their eighth straight Big 12 title.

This wasn't even a speed bump.

Dominating in every way possible, the Lady Bears (24-1, 14-0) ran their winning streak to 21 in a row and cruised to a surprisingly easy 42-point blowout victory over the No. 21 Oklahoma State Cowgirls (18-7, 9-5), 87-45, at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Lady Bears’ last and lone loss of the season was Nov. 18 against the now no. 7 UCLA Bruins; the same team Oklahoma State recorded one of its most impressive wins against this season.

Despite being shorthanded with only eight players suiting up, Baylor’s efficiency led the way. Four Lady Bears scored in double figures, led by Dekeiya Cohen and Kelani Brown. Cohen had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown also recorded a double-double with 20 points and an impressive 23 rebounds.

Strong offensive contributions from senior forward Dekeiya Cohen, who scored a career-high 20 points, and senior guard Kristy Wallace, who added another 18, were crucial to Baylor’s success, as sophomore forward Lauren Cox had to sit much of the second half in foul trouble. Cohen, Wallace and Brown combined for 58 of the Lady Bears’ 87 total points.

Even when the No. 21-ranked Cowgirls did the right things, it seemed to go wrong.

Third-ranked Baylor took control from the start on its way to an 87-45 win Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
