No. 3 WBB Defeats No. 24 TCU, 83-63 - Baylor University Official Athletic Site, Kalani Brown had 23 points and seven rebounds, and No. 3 Baylor women's basketball defeated No. 24 TCU, 83-63, Saturday night at the Ferrell Center.

In first meeting of the season, Baylor rolls TCU behind Cox, Brown and Landrum, BearsIllustrated, The Lady Bears continued their perfect start in Big 12play with win over TCU.

Team effort leads Lady Bears over TCU, WacoTrib, Raegan Pebley knows Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox are a tough matchup. The duo scored 23 and 16 points respectively against her TCU squad as No. 3 Baylor topped the Horned Frogs, 83-63, Saturday evening.

OBF Note on TCU @ Baylor: It was over when...

...TCU’s Jordan Moore fouled Baylor’s Kalani Brown with 1:38 left in the third quarter.

Kalani Brown has made 100 or more free throws on the season and these two put Baylor up by 25 points. A margin which, if the Lady Bears didn’t score for the rest of the game, would have been sufficient to win as the Horned Frogs would only score 23 more points for the rest of the game.

But the Lady Bears didn’t take their foot off the pedal for another 3 minutes and 22 seconds when they reached a 33 point lead of 75-42.

With 8:16 left in the game, Baylor dribbled to an easy 83-63 victory over the Horned Frogs.

Lady Bears dominate TCU 83-63 in 20th straight win | The Baylor Lariat, Capping off a huge day for Baylor sports in Waco with wins from men’s basketball, softball, men’s tennis and equestrian, the No. 3 women’s basketball team took down No. 24 TCU 83-63 Saturday night in the Ferrell Center.

Saturday’s victory marks the Lady Bears’ (23-1, 12-0) 20th consecutive win this season, and 23rd straight win over TCU (16-8,7-6). Baylor held onto its No. 1 ranking in the Big 12 and remains undefeated in conference play.

Strong performances from the Lady Bears included junior center Kalani Brown, who led the team with 23 total points, along with sophomore forward Lauren Cox, who picked up a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Juicy Landrum was named Player of the Game and recorded 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Landrum had five of the Lady Bears’ seven three-pointers, with the other two coming from freshman guard Alexis Morris.

“She’s just stepped right in with Natalie’s (Chou) wrist injury,” said Kim Mulkey, Baylor head coach. “It’s important that Juicy just understands to shoot it. Nobody’s going to tell you not to shoot it. She’s just playing with a lot of confidence right now.”
