Volleyball Steamrolls Illinois State, Anchored by the defense, Baylor volleyball held Illinois State to a .000 hitting percentage to earn the team’s first win of the 2017 season in three sets, 25-9, 25-15, 25-19, Saturday evening at the Ferrell Center.

“Last night we were just never in flow, and tonight we were in flow most of the match. Serves were much better. Our defense can be really good. Yossi had a big monster block one-on-one early on and that kind of set the tone. Illinois State’s a great team obviously – they went five with Florida State -- so to keep them hitting .000 tonight says a lot what we’re doing on defense. Our touches were just so much better so it really allowed us to get our middles going as well. Shelly hit .643 and Camryn just seemed like she was unstoppable with .438 tonight. It was great.” -head coach Ryan McGuyre.
