To kick off its preseason schedule, Baylor volleyball will hold its annual Green & Gold Scrimmage tonight, at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. From Baylor Bears dot com.
Coming off a compacted fall practice schedule, the squad will split into two teams and square off in front of its home crowd for the first time this season.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and fans are invited to come get an early glimpse of the 20-member squad, which includes 14 returning players and six newcomers.
The Bears are coming off a 2016 season that ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In head coach Ryan McGuyre’s second season at the helm, BU posted a 22-12 overall record and 9-7 mark in Big 12 play.

Inside Training Camp with Baylor's Katie Staiger, Baylor outside hitter Katie Staiger offers insight into her fifth preseason camp, including the team make up, her fellow seniors and team goals.
Baylor has its eyes set on a return to the postseason after making an NCAA second round appearance and posting a 22-12 mark in 2016. The Bears have a stacked slate ahead in 2017, including matchups with No. 10 BYU, No. 15 Florida State, and No. 20 Hawaii in non-conference action. The team will rely on a four-member senior class, including Staiger and second team All-Big 12 honoree Camryn Freiberg (MB).
