Daily Bears Reports 7/4- Recruiting and Hoops

Sic ‘Em!

NCAA Basketball: Iowa State at Baylor Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

It’s the 4th of July, so there’s less going on in the college sports world. But go USA!

Football/Recruiting:

Scout’s Gabe Brooks has a look at 2019 4-star safety Jamal Morris (free):

Morris' most recent visit was Baylor, which made an impression on the talented junior.

"First I was skeptical, but when I talked to Matt Rhule and the new coaching staff that came in," Morris said, "I see that they have big plans for Baylor coming up."

Kevin McGuire of the Comeback has Baylor No. 47 next season:

Baylor pulls a stunner in the Big 12 opener at home against Oklahoma, thus derailing Oklahoma’s College Football Playoff hopes (after losing two weeks earlier at Ohio State). But the Bears can’t stay on top of the Big 12 for very long as Baylor falters the next week at Kansas State heading into the bye week.

Sean Cordy of SicEm365 provides a good breakdown of Blake Lynch (free):

The beauty of the situation for Baylor with Lynch is there’s little concern to bend to his abilities, his ability is the one that wraps around the situation.

Hoops:

As Matt likes to say, the father of the son of a G.M., Dennis Lindsey (and a Baylor alumnus), is doing well in Utah:

I have a video of Manu Lecomte:

BNT will have a mailbag this week.

Have a good 4th!
