Before we dive into the mailbag, I would like to wish everyone a HAPPY 4th of JULY! As many of you know, I love going to some away football games and plan on making the Duke game this season. In honor of the 4th of July weekend, here are some BNT home movies of a few patriotic trips I’ve made through the years.
Now to the mailbag:
Tell us about Dru Dixon?!— David Hardage (@dwhardage) June 29, 2017
Dru is either a true walk on freshman LB who played HS in Phoenix or this guy:
Take your pick, but I’m thinking it’s probably the first Dru.
I really think I should let daddingo answer this, but I won’t. I’m not sure how much more successful we would all be, but I do know that we would have awesome hair.
over/under on TD's by TE's for the season.— NickOso (@heightofidiocy) June 29, 2017
Feuerbacher should benefit from the new system and with the addition of Ish’s (Wainright) 7’1” wingspan, I’ll set the over/under at 6.
How many quarterbacks will we see this season? (assume no injury-related adjustments)— Evan Bassler (@etbassler) June 29, 2017
We will see 2 QB’s this season. I could even see us doing situational platooning between Zach and Anu. The staff wants to redshirt Brewer. Let us never have to engage the WildBear again...said with deep reverence and appreciation.
Which 2017 recruit will have the biggest season?— Richard (@RicardoSuave21) June 30, 2017
Demarco Artis will gain some attention. Folks, this D is going to pressure the QB’s and get sacks. PRINT THIS IN LETTERS 6’ INCHES HIGH!
Didn’t Herman already win the COY? Ok, the real answer is that if Rhule beats OU and wins 6 conference games, he’s got a legitimate shot. As for the players garnering awards, Taylor Young and KJ Smith on defense, with Mo Porter, Terence Williams, and newcomer of the year Ish Wainright on offense.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you expect Baylor fans to respond Coach Rhule and the team?— Stan Perry (@perry_stan) June 30, 2017
Which Baylor Basketball player are you most excited about over the next two years?— Sam Taylor (@pray4samtaylor) June 30, 2017
(could be already on campus, a transfer, or a recruit)
Being a basketball season ticket holder, I’m going to go with Jake Lindsey. He’ll become the glue like Ish was last season, plus he can score (even 3’s). The way Drew develops players and Jake’s noticeable improvement over the last 2 years, I’m excited to see him continue to evolve the next 2.
How is freshman RB Abraham Smith's rehab doing?— Richard Landers (@Rich_Landers93) June 30, 2017
Other than being out for the season, I haven’t heard any negative news about the rehab.
OK, be real, what is our record at the end of the season?— Bob Lindsey (@iboblindsey) June 30, 2017
This team, with this staff, with such unity and commitment, while still having a great deal of talent will surprise the pundits. I think we will go 10-3, which is real for me since I always say we’ll go undefeated.
Do you believe Dennis Dodd when he says BU won't be in the power 5 after the tv contract is up?— David Anderson (@Danderson1125) June 30, 2017
Who's the next 2019 football commit Baylor picks up— Joshua Lippert (@joshualippert3) June 30, 2017
I’d love for it to be Nana Osafo-Mensah, but heck if I know.
What's the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?— Jacob (@txjacob0) June 29, 2017
What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
Are there any tailgates at McLane that stick out as notable in your experience...that should be encountered?— TheGrizz (@TheGrizzofBU) June 30, 2017
I enjoy making the tailgate rounds. I look forward to seeing old friends this season, while making new ones who invite me to hang out for a bit. As long as there is food, root beer (wink, wink), and folks to chat with I have a good time. I do...um...crash...I mean get invited to opposing fans tailgates when I’m on the road. I have to say, there is no tailgating experience like McLane.
