Softball
- Diamond Dust: Texas vs. Baylor — a brief softball history lesson in heroics | Hookem.com, Texas softball’s regular season comes to an end Sunday when the Longhorns and 17th-ranked Baylor conclude their three-game series at McCombs Field. Texas is 28-16 all-time against the Bears and hasn’t lost to Baylor at McCombs Field since May 15, 2011. As a matter of fact, both teams protect their home turf rather well in this series; The Bears have won four of the last five games at Getteman Stadium in Waco while the Longhorns have won each of the last five at McCombs. The importance of winning this series for Texas (29-20, 6-8 Big 12) aside, there is sure to be plenty of drama in store this weekend.

New Baylor President
- Bill Whitaker: Can new president set new accountability standards for embattled Baylor? | Bill Whitaker | wacotrib.com
Linda Livingstone dropped no major bombshells during her teleconference interview introducing her as Baylor University’s 15th president in April or her subsequent solo Q&A with the Trib. That’s not so surprising. Livingstone strikes me as smart, articulate and press-savvy — and she’s in no hurry to get crossways with the embattled Baylor University Board of Regents and rankled alumni over a sexual-assault scandal raging on and on partially because of misguided actions by Baylor leadership. Who can blame her? Continue Reading . . .
