Rise Up Waco Event April 4th; Raises Money for Waco Children

LaDainian Tomlinson and David Smoak lend their talents for a great cause

The Waco based Talitha Koum Institute will have their fundraiser for trauma-affected children at 6:30 P.M tomorrow (April 4th). The event is at The Pavilion at The Carleen in Woodway.

This event is a great cause and features excellent speakers. David Smoak of ESPN 1660 will MC the event. LaDainian Tomlinson will be the featured speaker. You’d be hard pressed to find two better representatives of Waco.

The fundraiser helps raise money for Waco children:

Since 2003, Talitha Koum's mental health, brain development program has been at work for trauma-affected children 8 weeks to 5 years. Our goal is to send our children to kindergarten able to self-regulate their behaviors and ready to learn from the calm-alert state. Talitha Koum's Nurture Center combines the evidence-based HighScope cognitive curriculum with a Sensory Integration "Diet" for each child along with Child Trauma Academy's Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. Children leave our care alongside a mentor who commits to him or her from kindergarten to college or career.

If you cannot attend the event, you can also make a donation to the Foundation here.
