Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling will compete today in the quarterfinals of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships in Azusa, California. The Lady Bears (6-1) are the back to back defending national champions and will compete against Gannon (3-4) in today’s quarterfinal at 2:00 p.m. CT. From Baylor Bears dot com:
Thursday marks Baylor’s second meeting with Gannon this season. The Golden Knights came to Waco on March 26, and the Bears won that match 287.825-272.320. That loss by Gannon was the first of three straight defeats to end the season, as they dropped their last two matches to Quinnipiac and Hawaii Pacific.
As for the Bears, they enter Thursday’s match on a five-game winning streak, which includes a win over first-seeded Oregon, 289.745-286.050. In addition to that victory over Oregon, the Bears have three other victories this season over NCATA tournament teams, including a victory over third-seeded and potential semifinal opponent Quinnipiac.
