Predicting Sunday’s NCAA Tournament Games Against the Spread

The final day of the first weekend

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Baylor vs New Mexico State Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

We’re 22-18 against the spread right now. Hopefully these picks don’t collapse today, but as I mentioned, the Spicy Chicken Biscuit is back at Chick-Fil-A. We can’t lose because of that.

Louisville (-1.5) v. Michigan- Michigan is one of the hottest teams in the country. They have not played a defense close to Louisville’s and they cover.

Kentucky (-2) v. Wichita State- This game pits the No. 5 and No. 6 KenPom teams. Wichita State gets revenge for the 2014 loss.

Kansas (-8.5) v. Michigan State- Kansas is much better than Michigan State. The Jayhawks have been in a number of close games. That starts again next week but not today.

North Carolina (-10) v. Arkansas- North Carolina is one of the country’s best teams and has unique size. The Razorbacks get killed on the defensive glass, and the Tar Heels cover.

Oregon (-5) v. Rhode Island- I would not bet this game, and I don’t bet the games anyway. But this line seems about perfect. I’ll go with Rhode Island keeping it closer than five but losing.

Baylor (-6.5) v. USC- USC is the worst remaining team, per KenPom. Baylor is a good deal better and covers.

Duke (-7) v. South Carolina- The world does not need a full week of Duke is back stories. They win, but it’s close.

UCLA (-1.5) v. Cincinnati- This line seems closer than I’d expect. UCLA’s offense is far better than anything the Bearcats have faced. UCLA covers.
