Baylor Lady Bear Alexis Jones is likely out until “somewhere in March” with a bruised knee. Baylor274’s Tony Adame reports that Jones suffered a bone bruise on her knee during the first half of the Lady Bear’s February 6 game against Texas and is now “day to day.”
Jones, who averages 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists, will likely miss Saturday's regular-season home finale against Texas Tech. Bone bruises have no set timetable for healing - it can take days or it can take months in some cases.
Jones has a history of severe knee injuries and has had both ACL surgery and microfracture surgery in the last five years.
Head Coach Kim Mulkey talks with local ESPN Radio’s David Smoak about Jones status.
Jones is Baylor’s leading scorer and recently had a triple double in Baylor’s curb stomping of Oklahoma in January.
