Baylor would be the #1 seed in the South region if the tournament started today. This would be the first #1 seed for Scott Drew’s squad. Baylor has earned a #3 seed on three prior occasions.
For the first time ever, the NCAA revealed the top sixteen teams if the season ended today. Baylor has quality non-conference wins against Oregon, Louisville, Xavier, and VCU. Add in their current second place position in the Big 12, and the Bears are a worthy #1 seed.
The other #1 seeds were Gonzaga, Villanova, and Kansas. The bracket will be revealed on Selection Sunday on March 12th.
