No. 3/3 WBB Holds Exhibition Monday - BaylorBears.com - Baylor University Official Athletic Site, No. 3/3 Baylor women's basketball hosts Washburn in exhibition action on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. (CT) inside the Ferrell Center. It is the last tune-up for the Lady Bears, who open the regular season against Lamar at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.
Washburn Athletics - Women's Hoops travels to Baylor for preseason tune-up, Washburn opens the 2017-18 campaign in Waco, Texas as it faces NCAA Division I powerhouse Baylor in exhibition action.
The contest will be the lone preseason match for the Ichabods prior to their season opener on Nov. 10. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from the Ferrell Center.
Washburn finished the 2016-17 campaign at 17-12 overall for its 16th consecutive winning season, while going 10-9 in conference action. The Ichabods earned their 16th straight berth to the MIAA Tournament as the seventh-seed, though fell to No.10-seed Southwest Baptist at home during the opening round.

Piercy’s overtime goal wins Big 12 Tournament for Baylor | The Baylor Lariat, A year ago, Baylor soccer couldn’t quite close the deal against TCU in the Big 12 Tournament semifinal, letting the NCAA Tournament selection committee determine its fate.
Despite having 12 wins, the Bears were left out.
On Sunday, Baylor refused to let someone else decide its fate this year.
After a late goal by the Horned Frogs tied the game at one and sent it to overtime, junior forward Lauren Piercy got behind the defense and slipped the golden goal past TCU sophomore goalkeeper Katie Lunt for the game-winner, stamping the Bears spot into next week’s NCAA Tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Horned Frogs.
Baylor head coach Paul Jobson said it will be a relief not having to keep his fingers crossed while he waits to find out who the Bears will play this week.
“I’m super excited to know that we’re in no matter what,” Jobson said. “We said, ‘You guys remember flash back to the talk we had before the season started, we said we didn’t want to leave it up to a committee to make a decision.’ And we did that.”

Baylor Songleaders take on 28th Shanghai Tourism Festival | The Baylor Lariat, The Baylor Songleaders traveled to Shanghai, China, to participate in the 28th Annual Shanghai Tourism Festival.
During the week of Sept. 6-13, the team was in Shanghai to perform in the tourism parade, at the Shanghai TV Tower and at a famous Pearl Museum. The trip was only offered to veteran members, since it took about a year to plan.
An American team is always invited to the festival, and in recent years they’ve invited college teams to participate, Hankins said. Previous American participants include UCLA in 2015 and Texas Tech in 2016.
A favorite memory shared between all members of the team was getting to perform in the parade and watching performers from other countries.
“We kind of felt like we were at home when we got to see Mexico,” Kristen Hankins, director of spirit and traditions, said.
