No. 16 MBB Drops Road Contest at No. 21 Xavier, 76-63 - Baylor University Official Athletic Site, After giving up 102 points in its first loss of the season, No. 21 Xavier spent all of its practice time working on defense.

No. 21 Xavier downs No. 16 Baylor, 76-63, cincinnatidotcom, Tuesday was one of those special nights at Cintas Center – mostly because Xavier basketball handled business against a nationally-ranked opponent in primetime.

Before a raucous, standing-room-only crowd of 10,503, the No. 21-ranked Musketeers (6-1) beat the previously undefeated and No. 16-ranked Baylor University Bears (5-1), 76-63.

The win was one of the best non-conference home victories of head coach Chris Mack's Xavier tenure, and the first over a ranked non-Big East team since the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout almost two years ago.

Though she's only 10, no one knows that better than Addie Rodriguez, who was born with spirit in her veins. She started cheerleading for two reasons-- first, because she thought it was a fun thing to do after school, and second, because she was looking for a distraction.

Her dad, Abel Rodriguez, is in the military. As a senior airman, he's served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a security force.

There was one person who didn't understand what all the fuss was about. That one person was Matthew Garcia.

In that moment, Matthew gave Addie wings.
