Our Volleyball Bears have been selected as the No. 12 Seed in the 2017 NCAA Volleyball Championship Bracket and for the first time in program history, they will host the first and second rounds.
Baylor Volleyball earns No. 12 national seed, hosts Miami, Ohio in NCAA opener | The Baylor Lariat, The Bears get the opportunity to play at home in the Ferrell Center, where they were 12-3 on the season, with all three losses coming to ranked opponents (Florida State, Kansas and Texas).
The Lady Bears later swept Kansas in Lawrence before the close of the regular season.

No place like home: Baylor volleyball nabs NCAA's 12th overall seed, to open up at Ferrell Center | Baylor Volleyball | wacotrib.com, It’s the sixth NCAA trip in program history, but the first time that Baylor has ever hosted. The Bears will welcome Miami of Ohio, Colorado and James Madison in Waco.
The vibe at Sunday’s watch party carried a much more relaxed assurance than a year ago, when the Bears were sweating whether they’d even make the 64-team field. This time, with a 23-6 overall record, a 13-3 mark in the Big 12, a ranking of 18 in the AVCA Top 25 and an RPI of 12, the Bears were locks to be among the participants. The only question was whether the selection committee would reward Baylor as one of the top 16 seeds, thus allowing the Bears to play at home.
The committee answered that question with a resounding yes.

The opening round for Baylor will be against Miami (Ohio) at 7:00 PM CT on Friday. TV broadcasts are still to be determined.
