Texas @ West Virginia

Texas (5-5) needs to get a win this week or next week against Tech to become bowl eligble. Another year without bowl eligibilty would be devestating to what Tom Herman is trying to do at UT. West Virginia (7-3) still has a chance to make it to the Big 12 title game if they can win this week and the next and have other pieces fall correctly. Texas’ defense has been pretty good but their offense has been lacking. I expect a low scoring game with WVU edging out the Longhorns.

#12 TCU @ Texas Tech

#12 TCU (8-2) has to win this game if they want to keep their longshot playoff hopes alive. Texas Tech (5-5) has to win either this week or next week against Texas to become bowl eligible. With the news that Kenny Hill is out and Shawn Robinson is starting, this game could be quite interesting. Shawn Robinson might very well be an upgrade for TCU. With that, I think the Horned Frogs, after getting somewhat embarassed by the Sooners, will bounce back and win, setting up an interesting bowl battle between UT and Tech next week.

Iowa State @ Baylor

Iowa State (6-4) was on a massive hot streak, upsetting both Oklahoma and TCU before dropping back to back games to West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Do they still have enough fighting spirit to not overlook Baylor (1-9) who might have finally found its offensive spark with Charlie Brewer? I think the Cyclones likely get it done this weekend, but if the Bears give it their all on senior day an upset is not all that far fetched.

#4 Oklahoma @ Kansas

NCAA Football: Kansas at Oklahoma Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

#4 Oklahoma (9-1) has itself in position to make the playoff if it can win out the rest of the season. That shouldn’t be an issue this week when they visit Kansas (1-9). Kansas looks absolutely awful this year and I really don’t see how they could possibly beat OU. Unless this is the trap game of the century, Sooners will win big.

Kansas State @ #13 Oklahoma State

Saturday, November 18th 2:30 PM CT, ESPN2

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

#13 Oklahoma State (8-2) is trying to keep itself in posistion for a possible rematch with OU in the Big 12 championship. Kansas State (5-5) has to get a win this week, or next week against Iowa State, to become bowl eligible. This is where I’ll put my upset pick this week, I think the KState defense might be able to shut down Mason Rudolph’s passing attack and force a lower scoring game than the Cowboys would like. I’m going with KState to become bowl eligible in a close upset.
