Congratulations to Baylor Lady Bear Kalani Brown on being selected as this year’s Big XII Preseason Player of the Year. Kalani was also named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team. Two more Lady Bears, sophomore forward Lauren Cox and senior guard Kristy Wallace, were All-Big 12 honorable mention selections by the league coaches.

Kalani Brown led the Big 12 in field goal percentage (.679) last season, ranked fourth in rebounding (8.2) and shot blocking (2.0) and fifth in scoring (15.4). She shattered Baylor's single-season field goal percentage record of .619 with a .679 percentage. Kalani led the Lady Bears with 11 double-doubles.
