Today’s Events

Softball

It’s all about that base running, pitching, fielding and hitting as softball continues its fall intrasquad scrimmages through the weekend.

Soccer

Baylor soccer starts Big 12 Conference play this weekend with a 6 p.m. CT home match vs. Texas on Friday on FOX Sports Plus and 1 p.m. road match at Oklahoma State on Sunday. Baylor Bears dot com has more match info and notes.

Both matches will feature live stats on BaylorBears.com and OKState.com, respectively. Sunday's match will have live video on OKState.com. Twitter updates will also be provided on the @BaylorFutbol official account.

Men’s Golf

Baylor men’s golf is headed to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the inaugural Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday, is hosted by Georgia State at Mirabel Golf Club. Baylor Bears dot com has more.

The 16-team field includes Augusta, Baylor, California, Chattanooga, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Houston, Kansas, Kent State, LSU, Notre Dame, South Carolina, South Florida and UAB.

Baylor is one of five ranked teams in the field. The Bears are No. 24 in the preseason Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll, joining No. 7 LSU, No. 11 California, No. 17 South Carolina and No. 22 South Florida.

Equestrian

No. 5 Baylor equestrian will open its 2016-17 season on Friday, Sep. 23, facing the South Carolina Gamecocks at 2 p.m. ET in Columbia, S.C. From Baylor Bears dot com.

Coming off a 2015-16 season that saw the Bears finish runner-up in the Big 12 Championship and a quarterfinal exit in the NCEA Championship, Baylor looks to build to a championship season, returning five All-Americans, six All-Big 12 selections, and the Big 12 equitation on the flat rider of the year, Alicia Gasser.

Men’s Tennis

Baylor men’s tennis senior Max Tchoutakian will continue his fall season at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships Friday through Sunday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. Baylor Bears dot com has more.

The Marseille, France, native will be one of 170 singles players at the 49th-annual event hosted by the University of Georgia. In singles action, Tchoutakian is 1-1 on the young season, after splitting a pair of matches against collegiate foes at last weekend’s Napa Valley Tennis Classic. That split included an upset win over 48th-ranked Logan Smith of USC and a loss to No. 13 Florian Lakat of Cal.

Tchoutakian, ranked No. 54 in the preseason ITA singles listings, is BU’s most experienced player. He is coming off a junior campaign in which he went 19-10 overall in singles action.

Saturday’s Tailgate Concert Series _ The Cadillac Three

The Cadillac Three will perform at this week’s tailgate concert. The concert will take place following the "Bear Walk," which happens two and half hours prior to kickoff. The stage for this performance will be right outside Gate D of McLane Stadium on the grassy area next to the south plaza.

The concert will last for approximately one hour to leave fans ample time prior to kickoff to enter the stadium. Admission to the concert is completely free and does not require a game ticket.

IMG, the multimedia rights partner of Baylor University, is a division of WME | IMG, which booked the concert series in conjunction with Baylor Athletic Marketing.
