Sometimes, it is good to play cupcake opponents in the “pre-season”, rather than, say, Houston and Ohio State. That’s right, your Baylor Bears are the Big 12’s highest-ranked team after three weeks. And, along with West Virginia, they are undefeated. Oklahoma, meanwhile has two losses and a looong way to go to get back in to the Playoff discussion. Oklahoma State and Texas Tech hung on to beat Pitt and Louisiana Tech, respectively, while TCU and Kansas State walloped Iowa State and Florida Atlantic. Oh, Texas lost.
A reminder that the Coaches Poll is entirely meaningless, mainly because Wisconsin and Georgia and Tennessee are 10 and 11 and 12 and Iowa is still ranked.
