Baylor Makes Top Six for 2017 Basketball Prospect Nick Claxton

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Providence Practice Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Baylor has made the final six for 2017 top 200 player Nick Claxton. Claxton is a 6’10 small forward.

Although Baylor will face an uphill battle to beat South Carolina and Georgia, the Bears have some hope. Claxton told Jamie Shaw of Phantom Hoops, “Coach Drew has been very hands on with my recruiting process since Day 1. Coach Tang coached me with the Virgin Islands International Team this Summer and we have a great relationship.”

Baylor’s 2017 class currently has one player, Tristan Clark, a 6’9 PF and consensus top 150 player. The Bears will lose Ish Wainright to graduation after this season, and they may lose Johnathan Motley to the NBA. That will make adding bigs like Claxton and potentially top 35 player Ikechukwu Obiagu the focus of Baylor’s 2017 class.
