Daily Bears Reports 7/27:Rape Survivor Speaks with Baylor Athletes

Brenda Tracy spoke with the football and basketball team this week. John Werner of the Waco Tribune Herald had this:

Tracy said she received a positive reaction from the Baylor athletes during her visit on campus. She sensed that the Baylor players embraced her message, and that they want to create a culture on campus that doesn’t tolerate sexual violence.

“We talked about their unique position as college athletes and how much influence they have,” Tracy said. “We talked about how most men don’t carry out these acts of violence, and that most are good men. We talked about ways they could be active on campus, and they all kind of pledged together to hold each other accountable.”

Baylor made the right call granting Stidham a release but restricting him to outside the Big 12. From Bart Doan of Student Section:

Stidham had to do what he felt was in his best interest to protect himself as a player going forward in terms of getting opportunity. Baylor had to protect itself from a potential star player jumping ship for playing time to a rival.

The Dallas Morning News lists K.D. Cannon as the Big 12’s second best wide receiver. James Washington of Oklahoma State is their #1.
