Daniel Castano, a junior left-handed starting pitcher, became Baylor's 39th draft pick since 1975. Castano finished second-team All Big 12 after striking out 63 batters.
Castano was selected yesterday by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 19th round. This is the highest Baylor selection since 2013. Castano was also a two-time member of the Big 12 Honor Roll and two-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week this season.
