In a somewhat surprising move, Rico Gathers was selected in the 6th round of the NFL Draft by none other than the Dallas Cowboys.

Rico Gathers played 4 seasons for Scott Drew on the Baylor basketball team before declaring for the NFL draft. A large number of NFL scouts appeared at Gathers' pro day, but it was still unsure if he would be taken as an athletic project.
Gathers will now be under the tutelage of one of the most successful at the tight end position, 11-year veteran Jason Witten.
