Daily Bears Report: Monday 2/29

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Men's Basketball

The Bears took down TCU on the hardwood over the weekend. Wasn't as open and shut as you might hope for, but hey this is a good Horned Frogs te-hahahahahaa

Women's Basketball

Remember the last time Baylor sports competed against the Longhorns? It was a lot of fun, huh?! Let's do that again. The Lady Bears are hosting a Gold Out for their game tonight against the #8 University of Texas Lady Horns. Long Ladies. Lady Longhorns? Idk.

And another thing, THIS IS SENIOR NIGHT!!! Chardonae Fuqua', Kristina HIggins, and Niya Johnson all deserve a strong sendoff. Combined they have lost eleven games. Over four years. 11. They won 93% of their games. Four Big XII Regular Season Championships and 3 more outright Big XII titles.

Go. Be loud. This is a fun team to watch, TRUST ME DANNY.

Rico Gathers is now focusing on football, in case you missed that. Rico will be setting up private workouts for some NFL teams. Looks like its going well so far.

It's Leap Day! Shawn Oakman is still physically impressive.

He wasn't the only Bear at the NFL Combine. Andrew Billings showed well in the 40yd dash running a 5.06s. That's at 311lbs. Oh.

GET YOUR BASEBALL BROOMS OUT BECAUSE BASEBALL DID SOME SWEEPING. Look, so... Stony Brook may not be THE world beater of baseball programs, but a sweep is a sweep. Coach Rod's Bears take 3 of 3 from the Stony Brook Seawolves, winning on a late homerun from West Tunnel.

His brother, East Underpass, was given the W for his work on the mound. The Bears are now 4-3 on the season.

Men's Tennis got back on the right side of winning this weekend. After losing two straight matches, the Bears shut out #17 Memphis 4-0 and took down Abiline Christian 6-1. The Bears are now 7-4 overall.

Both 4x400m teams claimed championships over the weekend. Bears are fast.
