Maybe there are too many awards. But we’re still going to give out some awards. This is what will hopefully be the first annual ODB Awards.
These awards are for the 2016 calendar year.
We begin our awards season with play of the year.
Our winning play is Ish Wainright’s 90 foot pass to Rico Gathers for three in the second Kansas game:
So many things go perfectly on that play. Ish Wainright makes a wonderful pass the length of the court. Rico Gathers collects the pass and heads to the three point line. And like Ray Allen against the Spurs in the 2013 finals, Gathers flawlessly makes it behind the line. Most impressively, Gathers ended his Baylor career shooting 100% from three. He made his one make spectacular.
Honorable mention:
Lester Medford’s make against Texas Tech is probably the most consequential play of a Baylor season because it ensured a victory. Medford dribbles behind the line and clinches the Bears win in Lubbock:
Seth Russell’s jump against Texas speaks for itself:

K.D. Cannon made a spectacular catch after a nice throw by Zach Smith. Cannon ended up with a touchdown against Oklahoma:
And finally Lauren Cox had “the swat” against Texas State:

Feel free to throw any play I’ve overlooked in the comments.
