Hellooooooooooooooooooooo Baylor Nation! Welcome back for another week of Campus Chronicles. Took a day off post game to let it breathe a little bit but here we are once again. This week we welcome ODB newcomer jpbales to the Campus Chronicles fam. JP is one of my school chums and a funny guy. You're familiar with at least some of his humor I'm sure.
That's right. He's one of the minds behind Textanic. Anyway let's go ahead and get into this week's Chronicle.
Jam of the Week
One of my favorite jams from the football games. Always gets the party going!
jpbales's week
What’s up ODB? I’m the boy jpbales, and I’m very excited to be apart of the Campus Chronicle. Hopefully I can be the Stidham to Matt McBeezy’s Russell, the Saracen to his Street, the Comer to his Boobie, the Ben Affleck to his Christian Bale, and the, well you get the point. I’m a junior at Baylor majoring in Economics, so ask me about supply and demand, I dare you. If you’re wondering how I got this job, it was an extremely rigorous process.

Anyways, this is what’s been happening in the Baylor bubble this week. Baylor girls absolutely obliterated in their first basketball game, unfortunately I don’t know a single student who went to the game, and a lot didn’t even hear about the game, which isn’t great. Baylor men’s team did their tip-off on Friday with a dunk contest, so that’s dope. Before the basketball players did their dunk contest, they let the students have one, which led to this.

Holy crap that dude can jump and he’s just a freaking student, for all I know he might like major in Political Science. He’s like a real life Clark Kent, hiding in plain sight even though he can freaking fly. Campus shut down for the game on Thursday night, which is exactly how it should be. I went to a watch party at a friend’s house, and the consensus of that party was that Snyder’s a warlock, Stidham’s a stud, and that Ryan Reid and Terrell Burt are obviously great defenders who make up our own Legion of Boom. I may have been exaggerating on the last one. It’s Steppin Out today, which is where like 5000 students go to do work projects in Waco to give back. It’s a cool thing Baylor does, but, unfortunately, it’s not usually a cool thing I do.
Some quick highlights of my week.
● CRUSHED a Marketing Test
● Had a class on Friday canceled
● Started rewatching Friday Night Lights
● Developed the world’s most deadly 2 v. 2 Rocket League strategy with my roommate
● MEH’D a Geology Test
● Played basketball against Silas Nacita, lost because I am not a D1 caliber athlete
● Rode a hoverboard for the first time
● Fell off a hoverboard for the first time, and it looked something like this

Anyways, that’s been my week in a nutshell, enjoy your weekend everyone.
lord.hinton's week
What up guys. This week was fairly mundane for the most part. Obviously everyone was super pumped/nervous about the game Thursday night.
Monday was just fine. Rocked an Employment Law quiz.
Tuesday failed another Finance quiz, whoops. I hate Finance. I've failed all 3 pop quizzes but have done extremely well on both of our tests. Clearly I don't like surprises. Also the CFP rankings came out and maaaaaaaaaaaan listen, that was some bull****. Yeah I know we just have to keep winning and the rankings don't matter and blah blah blah but those rankings were still crap and I for one do not like being fed crap.
Wednesday was pretty uneventful. I applied to be the Sponsorship Chair for the Bearathon so we'll see how that goes.
Thursday was liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. All of my classes got out early, I had chick-fil-a for lunch, Jarrett Stidham stunted on all the haters in a major way, etc. I could not have been more impressed with Stidham's play. He throws a pretty ball, he has pocket poise, and he doesn't back down from a challenging throw.
WATCH: Jarrett Stidham HAD A DAY in his first career start. 23-of-33, 419 yards & 3 TDs with another TD rushing. https://t.co/QJWh6YHjlg

The receivers had a few moments of weakness with drops but I don't think it'll be an issue going forward. Clearly they just aren't used to catching gifts from God yet. More reps will take care of it.
Of course people are very doom and gloom with the defense. But I thought we looked fine. If Baylor only gives up 24 points and forces 3 turnovers every game we will go undefeated down the stretch. Was it a little uncomfortable? Of course. But we stepped up big in enough spots to win and that's all we have to do.
Friday, not really sure what went on on Friday. Don't have class on Fridays so I just hung out at home watching Parks and Rec. Went to Fuego out in Woodway with my roommates, the Nacho Mama's Dip is dope af. Queso, guacamole, sourcream, pico, and your choice of meat (I went with brisket). I highly recommend it.
There you have it folks. Another week on Baylor's beautiful campus in the books! Hope you enjoyed it. As always leave any questions in the comments so I can answer em next week!
May the afar flung green and gold guide and protect us as we onward go down this Good Ole Baylor Line. See ya next week guys!
