As part of the run-up to the Russell Athletic Bowl, there was a press conference / media event today where both coaches put on suits and acted like somewhat normal people (rather than football-obsessed cyborgs), and both teams tried as hard as possible not to mean-mug each other from across whatever hotel's largest conference hall. Here's the highlights from the @BUFootball Twitter account:
And now here's a few other tweets of note:
The beauty of the Briles PC was watching the stenographer's face after some of his sayings. A particular one on breakfast cereal was great.

I put this tweet first, so I could lead you into one of the classic Brilesisms of the season:
Briles on playing w/out some starters, "I think if you have a bowl of cereal and you wanted bacon and eggs, you eat the cereal." #Brilesism

I can't decide if this is a somewhat straightforward Brilesism about injuries or a larger statement about the true purpose of our lives. Viewed as the latter, Briles could be deriding our culture's laser-like focus on materialism and the Pursuit of More. He strikes me as something of a minimalist that way. Viewed as the former, he was probably just talking about how injuries suck and there's nothing we can do about them except complain, and ain't nobody got time for that.

I'd pay money for that cardboard cutout of Briles. I'd use it as a scarecrow to keep bad offenses away from my house.
.@BUFootball coach Art Briles was enamored w/the ACC patch on UNC's helmet. He wants an upgrade. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/WqLC9HNzGb

I like it.
Baylor's Spencer Drango glad he helped make Art Briles' vision a reality https://t.co/nlodw9kwMN

A somewhat random inclusion just because it's worth posting.
Stay tuned for the Roll Call post shortly!
