Briles stoked for McLane Stadium atmosphere
Baylor Lariat sports editor and personal friend Shehan Jeyarajah was at Big 12 Media Days, and got a chance to talk to Art Briles about his expectations for McLane Stadium and the similarities between the leadup to Robert Griffin's Heisman season and the current hype for Bryce Petty. I'd argue that Petty is actually more widely known than Griffin was at the time due to Baylor's prolonged success and national relevance. Get ready for the season, folks. Briles expects lot out of the fans.
Austin sees success with NBA, pursuing degree
Isaiah Austin is returnig to Baylor this fall to pursue a degree, but he already has a part-time job with the National Basketball Association as part of the NBA Cares initiative. Commissioner Adam Silver has made it known that Austin will have a full-time position upon graduation if he wishes it.

Player opinions at Big 12 Media Days
David Ubben, everyone's favorite friend of the blog, polled players who were in attendance at Big 12 Media Days and asked them a wide variety of questions about coaches, teams, and fans around the conference. The results are ready for you to overanalyze.

Trouble in Fort Worth?
A weird situation got weirder yesterday when TCU announced that star defensive end and preseason Big 12 DPOY Devonte Fields had become "separated from the university" pending a domestic assault investigation. Initial reports claim that Fields punched his ex-girlfriend in the face in Fort Worth after possibly pointing a gun at her.

If these rumors are true, Gary Patterson will have a difficult decision to make regarding Fields' future with the team. I think I speak for us all when I say I hope he doesn't want to coach a team with any classless players.
