Like Mark said in yesterday's Baylor draft preview, it's easy for one to get bored with the pageantry of the modern NFL Draft. In many ways, it's just a drawn-out event that helps fans pass the offseason and add fuel to the blogs that need to keep churning out content without any real news to report. For those college football players who have elected to go pro, however, draft day may very well determine the course of the rest of their lives. Several Baylor players could be taken in this year's draft, including:
- RB Lache Seastrunk
- S Ahmad Dixon
- DB Demetri Goodson
- OG Cyril Richardson
- TE Jordan Najvar
- WR Tevin Reese
- OLB Eddie Lackey
Najvar and Lackey have fairly slim chances of hearing their names called, but are possibilities nonetheless.
Sports that happened:
None of them. Nada. Sorry folks. However, there is some Baylor news to report from yesterday.
The first is that Baylor Athletics and Tumbling coach LaPrise Harris-Williams has decided to resign her position to seek other opportunities in the gymnastics world. The search for her replacement will commence soon. Harris-Williams spoke in chapel last semester and seemed like a lovely woman. All the best to her in her future endeavors!
On a brighter note, Track and Field is soaring in the rankings, reaching their highest point in the national polls since 2012. The men's and women's teams are both ranked 13th nationally, and strong recruiting should ensure the program's national relevance in years to come.
You'll hear about it here if any major Baylor-related draft news drops today. Until then, I have a final, so I'll leave you all to your devices. Entertain yourselves, commentariat.
