Alas, college basketball is no more, football doesn't return for another five months, and the NBA is boring (come at me). Fear not, ye sports fans, there are sports to be had! The NHL regular season is wrapping up and the Dallas Stars are in a tight race for the final wild card spot. For those more inclined towards the pitch, the MLS is in full swing, the NWSL kicks off this weekend, and the Premiere League and Champions League are shown in the United States because TV execs are finally realizing that football truly is the Beautiful Game.
But this is America, and in America we play our national pastime, baseball (or softball, for the ladies). MLB is bringing us daily games and there are two teams that play over by the river in some beautiful stadiums. You may have heard of them.
In Season: Baseball and Softball
Daniel Castano held his foe to 3 R or less for 5th time in 5 starts but it wasn't enough for BU at SHSU. pic.twitter.com/KRXWm5LSmr

There's no write-up at this time, so here goes a summary based on Tweets!
B2: Castano allowed a run on 2 1Bs & 1-out RBI 2B by Plucheck. Nifty scoop & toss with glove-only by Dodson at 1B on a bunt to save a run.
— Baylor Baseball (@BaylorBaseball) April 9, 2014
T4: 3 runs for BU. Wendel reached on E3, Dodson 1B, Sheppard RBI FC & E let him reach, Doe sac fly, Sheppard stole home as Toth stole 2B.
— Baylor Baseball (@BaylorBaseball) April 9, 2014
B4: Castano gave up a leadoff 2B to Burgess and 2-out RBI 1B to Plucheck as SHSU cut into the Bears' lead. BU 3, SHSU 2.
— Baylor Baseball (@BaylorBaseball) April 9, 2014
B7: Runner reached on E6 off Ashby and then a 2 RBI single by Burgess put SHSU in front. 2 on, 2 outs. SHSU 4, BU 3.

Baylor Baseball continues to be unable to win on the road, it seems. Starting pitcher Daniel Castano had a solid six inning, only allowing two runs, but reliever Doug Ashby gave up two in the bottom of the seventh, giving Sam Houston the 4-3 lead they would not relinquish.
The Bears will try to end their skid at Dallas Baptist this Friday.

The Dallas Stars picked up a crucial win, albeit in overtime, to remain in the driver's seat for the final playoff spot. The Stars have not yet clinched the spot, but they are sitting two points above the Phoenix Coyotes at the moment. Finish strong, y'all!

The Rangers survive a late Red Sox rally to tie the series, 1-1. As a fan of both teams, this series has been a series of conflicting emotions.

Champions League Madness
Demba Ba hands Chelsea incredible quarterfinal win | http://t.co/uAlWHv6kBL
— WAGNH (@WAGNH_CFC) April 8, 2014
Demba. Freaking. Ba. Chelsea were down 3-1 to PSG going into today, but nothing is impossible for the Blues. André Schürrle put Chelsea within one early on, but it was not until the dying minutes that the magic happened. Azpilicueta crossed the ball across the box where it deflected off several players until Ba beat his defender and poked the ball over the keeper but under the bar for the winning goal!
Borussia Dortmund also had a rallying second leg, but were unable to secure the winning third goal as they fell on aggregate to Real Madrid.
