Postseason News

Women's Tennis Set for Big 12 Championships - The 14th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team will take on eighth-seeded and 68th-ranked Kansas at 9 a.m. on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Championships. Baylor is the No. 1 overall seed in the Big 12 after winning the regular-season conference.

Women's Golf Seeded 4th at Big 12 Championship - The Baylor women's golf team begins postseason play this weekend at the 2014 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship in Austin, Texas. BU will compete against eight other teams beginning Friday at the UT Golf Club. If they win, they'll probably have to retreat to the pro shop for the trophy presentation.

Acrobatics &Tumblings's Nowlin Takes Home National Title - Freshman Kiara Nowlin won the team's only individual event title Thursday evening at Azusa Pacific.

Men's Golf Heads to Big 12 Championship - Baylor is headed to the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship, which begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The three-day, 72-hole tournament is hosted by TCU at the par-72, 7,473-yard course.

Meanwhile, the teams not playing for their lives.

Softball Looks to Gain Ground with Big 12 Series vs. Kansas - The No. 14 Baylor (33-12, 6-4) softball team plays host to Kansas (29-16, 3-6) in a three-game Big 12 series Friday through Sunday at Getterman Stadium.

Distance Runners Open Drake Relays - A quartet of Baylor track and field distance runners kicked off the Bears' participation in the 2014 Drake Relays by competing on Thursday at Drake Stadium. Distance running is my personal nightmare fuel.

Baseball Hosts Kansas this Weekend for Three-Game Series - Baylor baseball hosts Kansas this weekend in a three-game Big 12 series at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears (19-22, 5-9 Big 12) and Jayhawks (23-20, 6-9 Big 12) have games scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT Friday on FOX Sports Plus, 3 p.m. Saturday on FOX Sports Plus and 1 p.m. Sunday on FOX College Sports. Baylor was swept in this series last year.

Basketball: No real "news" to report, but while I was walking home last night I passed the Habitat and saw Coach Drew and Deng Deng leaving the building after feeding the bears. Deng's a big boy, and he was wrapping up his official visit yesterday.
