Thursday Daily Bears Report: Things That Happened

Wow, there's not much to say after a huge Tuesday and a really quiet Wednesday.

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

After Baylor's trouncing of Iowa State in both forms of basketball on Tuesday, Wednesday seemed extremely quiet by comparison. Aside from some baseball news and a few updates regarding campus construction, there's not too much to say.

In-Season News: MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball

The Baylor men are sitting comfortably on the right side of the bubble after taking down Iowa State in the Ferrell Center on Tuesday. While lots of analysts say that the Bears can probably afford a loss to Kansas State in Manhattan on Saturday, we certainly hope that they can get a win against the Wildcats and dispel any lingering doubts.

Women's basketball will enter Big 12 tournament play on Saturday as the number one seed. They will play the winner of Kansas vs. Kansas State.

Baseball hosted Lamar today with a 3-2 win at Baylor Ballpark. The win snapped a four-game losing streak and marks the Bears' fifth straight home victory. Their next game will be this weekend at home versus No. 4 Cal State Fullerton to open a three-game weekend series.

Softball hosts Louisiana Tech in a single game tonight at 6:00 at Getterman Stadium. The Lady Bulldogs are 8-11 with several losses to top 25 teams. This should be a win for the Lady Bears if pitching from Whitney Canion and Heather Stearns remains consistent.

Campus Happenings

Well, that's no fun. Good thing I already park on the other side of campus.

...but I guess I can forgive parking services when I get news like this at the same time. I have mixed feelings on Penland becoming the best dining hall on campus though. It somehow seems wrong. And replacing Quizno's (my on-campus dining of choice) with a "Freshii"? Meh.
