Wow, what a weird and brilliant 48 hours. At this point in the night I barely have energy to write, so I'll hit the high points and record the events of Midnight Waffles before they begin to fade from my memory.
In-Season News: MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball
MBB has a must-win game versus Texas Tech in the Ferrell Center at 12:30 today. If you're a student you better be there, and you better be on your feet and making noise the entire time. No excuses. This is the second-to-last men's home game of the season before senior day against Iowa State.
WBB hosts West Virginia on Sunday at 1:30 in the Ferrell Center. A win against the Lady Mountaineers clinches a Big 12 title for Kim Mulkey's team. Odyssey Sims was also named as a semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy, a stellar accomplishment for a women's basketball player. Only ten women's players are named semifinalists.
Weather Forces More Changes to Baseball's Schedule in San Diego: the weather system that has hit San Diego this weekend has forced more changes to Baylor baseball's schedule at the University of San Diego's tournament at Fowler Park. If weather cooperates, the Bears will have a chance to play three games before the weekend is through.
Softball was 1-1 in their first day in Gulfport, losing a narrow game to Louisiana and delivering Mississippi State's first loss of the season.
Offseason Football News
Today was the first day of spring ball at Baylor, and Art Briles stole the show as usual with his unparalleled quotability. The media was on hand to give you everything there is to know about the first day of practice.

New 2015 OL commit Maurice Porter expects to be January 2015 enrollee. He will be a tackle. Currently 6-6, 295.

The pickup of Maurice Porter, a 2015 tackle that I know very little about, softens the loss of Ronnie Major to Texas considerably.

Last Night
I hope Mark will let Matthew and I write up a full story on the events of last night once our photographer gets the pictures of the night's proceedings back to us. Here are the basics:
We estimate that 350 people were in Alexander Hall as attendees of Midnight Waffles (an event which I founded and Matthew helps me run). Of those, about 275 were fed. Two of those attendees were Bryce Petty and Levi Norwood. I made the Bryce Petty waffle that we discussed at length a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty certain that he enjoyed it. I also got the two to sign my line jersey (Matthew did the same). It was an extremely fun experience that I would love to talk more about, but I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open after 72 hours with minimal sleep, so I'll leave you with a few tidbits:

Fantastic night. I'm hoping to eventually get the stars to align and move the event to the SUB, where it will be much more visible. Remember: get to that basketball game right now and cheer your lungs out.
