Saturday Daily Bears Report: The Podcast is Not a Lie

Seriously, the Podcast Committee finally completed a recording without losing someone's voice.

Podcast Committee. That is the official name of the people who do the podcast. Commit it to memory, and hold them accountable so we can get our much-needed dose of weekly analysis back for good.

In-Season News: Men's and Women's Basketball

It's game day for MBB. The Bears play at 6:00 in Norman on ESPN2. This game was considered a "must win" by the podcast committee, and it won't be an easy win; OU has been a surprise team in the Big 12 this year, and our last shot against the Sooners ended before a final shot could be attempted. If this game turns out well, Baylor's tournament hopes are alive, but will require a fortuitous run to come to any sort of fruition.

Off-Season News: Football and Baseball

#FullSpeedFriday is the most metal thing this side of Pittsburgh. Boys venture into Kaz's kitchen and emerge as fully-cooked men.

I mean, holy cow. #Carnage? That's just terrifying. Notable statistic from yesterday is that Johnny Jefferson hit 44.6 in the vertical jump and 4.43 in the 40-yard dash. The boy's gonna be good. Check out the official update on McLane Stadium too!

Baseball is so close. It's so close.

Dogecoin, and a bit of sadness...

The Sochi Olympics, besides being the most expensive of all time, are also an apparent farce on several levels. They're also the current stomping ground of the famous Jamaican bobsled team, which managed to raise the funds to make the trip via... Dogecoin?

The meme-inspired cryptocurrency was sent en masse by Redditors and other internet-based subspecies of humanity, but it wouldn't be Sochi if something didn't go terribly wrong. As it turns out, the team's luggage was lost during the trip.

Speaking of doges, some of you will recall that I mentioned my dog in Thursday's DBR. Sadly, I have to report that PennyDog passed on Wednesday night, and my parents put off telling me so I wouldn't be distracted from my tests at the end of the week. I'm taking it well, but losing a childhood pet is difficult and I'm glad that I was able to make the trip home to see my family, even if I didn't make it in time to see her. I miss her, but it was better that this happened after I was already accustomed to not seeing her every day. Thank you all for your kind words on the subject.
