Saturday DBR: Sport All The Sports!

MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball, Men's Golf, and Equestrian are all in action today!

"Gee, Rico, what do you want to do today?" "The same thing we do every day, Isaiah - win."
"Gee, Rico, what do you want to do today?" "The same thing we do every day, Isaiah - win."

Hopefully this weekend goes better for Baylor than the last two days have gone for the United States Hockey Teams (darn Hat!). Baylor fans all over Texas have plenty to look forward. For those of you in the DFW area, attend the Lady Bears game at 11:00 and turn the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum into the Ferrell Center North. If any of the readership are near Humble, TX (looking at you Houstonians) check out the Men's Golf Team at the Bayou City Collegiate Championship.

Obviously, the epicenter of Baylor Nation has the most options for Baylor sporting events. Baseball begins at 3:05 and Softball follows at 5:00. Tomorrow's weather should be glorious, so if you're in Waco, I highly suggest spending the afternoon at the Ballpark.

Finally, if you want to watch some world-class hockey, the United States play Finland in the Bronze Medal Match at 9:00 a.m. Despite a disappointing loss to the Hat, the United States can still end the Olympics on a high note with a win this morning.

In Season: MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball

Men's Hoops Heads to Morgantown -

Baylor looks to avenge their loss earlier in the season and continue their winning ways as they head to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers. This game should be tightly contested; West Virginia are just one ahead of Baylor in the Big 12 standings. However, as this year has proved, there is no such thing as an easy road win in the Big 12.

Brady Heslip and Cory Jefferson are both closing in on the 1,000 point mark; Heslip needs just seven points to eclipse the mark, which is entirely possible today. Isaiah Austin has been steadily improving, especially down in the paint. Everyone will need to step up if the Bears are to pull out the victory in Morgantown, where the 'Eers have won four straight in impressive fashion.

No. 6/5 WBB Takes on TCU in Early Game -

The Lady Bears continue their steam-rolling of the Big 12 today in front of ten (probably) TCU fans.  No one expects this game to be anything less than a blowout; even the official preview is short. I fully expect the Lady Bears to crush the froggies.

Newman, Porter Lead Baseball to 5-2 Win vs. Austin Peay -

Baseball opened up its first home series of the year yesterday with a 5-2 win over Austin Peay (a public college located in Clarksville, Tennessee).  I plan on going to today's game, so I will be able to give y'all a first-hand account tomorrow. I'll put a full wrap-up of the series in Monday's DBR after I am able to get up to speed on Baylor Baseball.

No. 15 Softball Takes 2nd-Straight Win over No. 16 Missouri -

Here's the official story from Thursday's win.

Baylor Softball Knocks Off Unbeaten Stanford; Falls to Cal State Fullerton

No. 15 Baylor beat No. 11 Stanford on Friday, 7-1 but lost to Cal State Fullerton 1-6. The Lady Bears handed Stanford their first loss of the season with the victory behind dominate pitching from Whitney Canion. CSF were limited to just five hits, but three of them were home runs. The home runs, plus four errors were just too much to overcome for the Lady Bears.

Baylor will take on California at 5:00 p.m. CST today.

Off Season: Football

There will be more.

The NFL Combine is officially underway. For any and all news related to the Baylor Bears at the Combine, head over to the Baylor Bears at the 2014 NFL Combine article.

Lache has a new 'do. Less hair = faster 40 time?

Best of the Rest

For whatever reason, there is nothing official up yet, but Baylor Equestrian competed twice yesterday at the Fresno Invitational in Fresno, California. They beat SMU and fell to Fresno State.

Soccer Announces 2014 Spring Schedule

Baylor Soccer will play five exhibition matches this spring. I've not followed collegiate soccer closely enough to know if having exhibition matches is common, but I know it is commonplace in professional leagues.

Baylor will face Oklahoma, Trinity (San Antonio), Houston Baptist, Texas Tech, and North Texas. Trinity will be the only home match, it will happen on March 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field in Waco.

Men's Golf Tied for Fourth at Bayou City

The Bears are eight strokes back of leader Houston after shooting an even par in the first round.

Olympics and Other Happenings

What country has the most overall medals? That's right, MURICA! (Please continue to ignore Norway's gold medal count). But charts are boring, what you really want is puppets announcing the medal count instead.

Winter Olympics 2014: Spilly concocts a Russian Hot Pocket.

Spilly is a genius in the most disgusting way possible.

They're developing Space Jam 2 for LeBron James. Okay, so there isn't actually a Space Jam 2 in the works. Probably because one can never match Jordan's performance in the original.

Quincy Acy was already an outstanding Baylor player, but now he goes and does this? Quincy Acy is a boss.

Bob Costas walks right into Matt Lauer's perfect eye joke

Top-notch, Lauer.

Go forth and Sic 'em, y'all.
