Quick Game Preview from Ted

Team: Colorado Buffaloes

Coach: Tad Boyle

Number of returning starters: 4

Key losses: Andre Roberson (to NBA)

Key returnees: Askia Booker, Spencer Dinwiddle

What to expect:

This is going to be a tough game. Our season opener is easily the most difficult of all the Big 12. The Buffs are sitting just outside the top 25 and in my opinion, deserve to be in it. We've had a couple of preseason tests in Wichita State and Memphis which should have helped us get in game mode following a rather tumultuous off season for a team without any coaching turnover. Again, this is an fairly difficult way to open the season for a Scott Drew team that has historically not done well in a grind-it-out style approach, but don't be surprised to see a more athletic Bears squad outplay Tad Boyle's team.

Keys to the game:

1) Cory Jefferson, Rico Gathers and Isaiah Austin must absolutely dominate the boards like they should to help out our inexperience back court.

2) Energy and focus off the bench from guys like Taurean Prince, Royce O'Neale and Gary Franklin.

3) Limit turnovers - Chery is going to be adjusting from JUCO talent/pace/speed to NCAA Tourney level talent/pace/speed.
