Daily Bears Report 01.16.2013

USA TODAY Sports

The Lady Bears make their second trip to Kansas this week today, facing Kansas State tonight at 7:00 PM. Top-ranked Baylor has won a record setting 26 Big 12 games in a row, and look to continue the streak. Kansas State uses a 5 guard starting lineup and has only 2 players on their roster over 6 feet. Baylor's Brittney Griner scored 33 in the weekend's win over Kansas, and holds the nation's top spot in field goal percentage, as well as leads the Big 12 in scoring per game. Though the Lady Bears will not be able to repeat their perfect season, due to the early loss to Stanford, but are potentially even stronger than last year's 40-0 national champions.

2012 Baylor Football ended their season 5th in the Big 12, with an 8-5 record and a statement victory over ranked UCLA in the Holiday Bowl. On the list of New Year's Resolutions for 2013 Baylor Football? Making the last year in Floyd Casey Stadium a good one, and possibly remembering the defense that showed up the last 4 games of the year.

Dr Pepper Hour is 60! The weekly event, originally a "coffee matinee," has been a university tradition since 1953, and became the Dr Pepper Hour in 1997 when Baylor signed a contract with the company to become the sole beverage provider on campus.
