Daily Bears Report 09.26.2012

Your daily dose of bearish links.

Jerome Miron-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Ahh, fall in Texas. At least it's 90, rather than 100!

Baylor is back to being the underdog this week versus WVU, in a game that many are predicting to be extremely high scoring. In fact, the over/under on Saturday's game is 79.5 points, and many commentators would probably take the over. Yet, some are comparing WVU to OSU last season, who blew Baylor out to the tune of 59-24 last season. Personally, I don't think that's going to happen. WVU are the media's darlings, being new and all, but they did allow 21 points to Maryland last week, and only scored 31 against the Terps, while giving up 302 passing yards to the Maryland true freshman QB. But, as the cliche goes, that's why they play the games. The Bears represent the first Big 12 challenge for the Mountaineers with the top offensive player in the nation and one of the most productive offenses. Speaking of productive, here are the stats for Baylor football's alumni.

In Baylor Football recruiting news, Mesquite Horn linebacker (and Baylor commit) D.J. Green is having a great season, collecting 39 tackles with two pass breakups, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in four games.

In Baylor Lady Bears recruiting news, Nina Davis, a 6'1" wing ranked 52nd in the nation commited to Baylor yesterday over her hometown University of Memphis and an offer from Vanderbilt. Davis is the second basketball standout from Memphis to commit to Baylor in the last week, with White Station's Leron Black committing to the men's team for 2014.

Baylor Volleyball fell in straight sets last night to (9) Texas last night, despite holding early leads in all three sets, and holding the Longhorns under their season hitting percentage. The Bears' next match is this Saturday against (15) Kansas State in the Ferrell Center. Despite Baylor's conference 0-2 record, sophomore Adri Nora is finding her stride as a middle blocker. Nora has 113 kills on the season and was named MVP of the team's last two tournaments.

Also, there's a weird rumor going around about a possible new green uniform for Baylor MBB. We don't typically pull breaking uniform news from Michigan basketball sites, but they had to have gotten that image from somewhere. Until we can confirm the legitimacy of that uniform, take it with a grain of salt.
