Based on the results from his incredible debut game this past week against the Saints, Baylor's own RGIII has been named the NFC Offensive PoW for Week 1 in the NFL. Redskins fans are understandably excited about both the results so far and the notoriety their historically-downtrodden franchise has received therefrom. I'm excited for them.
According to the official twitter for the 'Skins, RGIII is the first rookie QB to be so named in the opening week of the season ... ever. At least since 1984, anyway, when they started doing it. Oh, and to top it all off, Robert is also on this week's edition of Sports Illustrated.
So put aside your hatred of the Redskins and celebrate RGIII's success with me, if you would. Remember, every time someone talks about him positively, Baylor gets the benefit of that press, too. He's a walking, talking reminder of how far our football program has come.
