Hey, do you know what tomorrow is? It's game day!
Before I get to all the football links, Baylor Soccer defeated former Big 12 rival Nebraska yesterday 3-0, extending their record to 4-1 on the season. Dana Larsen, Lisa Sliwinski, and Karlee Summey all scored for Baylor, while Michelle Kloss played all 90 minutes in goal and preserved the shutout.
Baylor Cross Country fared excellently in their first race of the year, with the women's team placing first and the men's team placing second overall. Sophomore Rachel Johnson finished in first in the women's race, helping the team on to victory.
Baylor Volleyball is 4-0 after a 3-0 sweep of (25) California in Hawaii yesterday. Though the games were close in score, the Bears managed to stay undefeated with a complete team effort.
Now then, what y'all are really here for. The Sacramento Bee has a Sports Network preview of SMU at Baylor, as does CBSSports.com, who says that Floyd Casey should be "rocking" due to the Bears being undefeated at home last year. The Waco Tribune-Herald has several stories going back a few days that I can now link, due to the removal of the paywall. The Bears will be playing to escape RG3's shadow, while the defense will be playing to escape the title of "The Big 12's Worst Unit." (This story was written and published before the news broke that Kaeron Johnson was out for the season.) The offense is looking to prove that they weren't just RG3 and that this year's roster is just as skilled as the last.
One day until the 2012 season starts. Sic 'Em, Bears.
