The latest Rivals 100 debuted today with a Baylor Bear in its midst. Fort Worth Southwest HS Robbie Rhodes jumped all the way to #67 in that national rankings on the strength of a 6.0 RR, the highest of any Baylor recruit in Art Briles' tenure at the school. According to Kevin Lonnquist of SicEmSports.com, last year's stud DE Javonte Magee finished with a 5.9 in Rivals' system while Robert Griffin III and Ahmad Dixon earned a 5.8 and 5.9, respectively. '
Rivals isn't the first service to jump on the Robbie Rhodes bandwagon; 247Sports has Rhodes as the #18 player and #1 WR in the country along with the #2 player in Texas. Once Rivals updates their state and position rankings-- you can't convince me there are 37 better players in Texas or 42 better receivers-- his composite rankings should go up even higher, as well. Now if only Scout would do the same...
Congratulations, Robbie, for getting the bump you deserve! In the article about the biggest movers in the rankings, Rivals analysts stated that the availability of more film on Mr. Rhodes along with his increased size this summer made them decide he needed the jump. Whatever the reason, I know Baylor fans can't wait to get RR on campus and into one of the best offensive systems in the country!
PS. In case you can't see the rankings, a few other items of note from the Rivals100 are the demotions of Texas QB commit Tyrone Swoopes and former Texas commit Ricky Seals-Jones from 5*s to 4*s.
