5 wins? Coach Briles loves being underestimated.
5 wins? Coach Briles loves being underestimated.

Ah, a new semester. Back to actually having to set alarms, Baylor students!

Baylor Soccer emphatically opened their home season with a 5-0 win over Northwestern State on Sunday. The Bears travel to California for two games, and play their next home game on August 31st against Nebraska.

KUsports.com has a story about Baylor Football 2012 as a part of their Big 12 preview series, and breaks down how the departure of Robert Griffin III will make a difference to the program. Also, since the semester has started, here's the Lariat article about the football program not settling for last year's success.

In RG3 news, he struggled a bit in his second pre-season game, throwing no touchdowns while being sacked three times. Despite this, coach Mike Shanahan had praise for him after the game, saying "I liked the way he handled himself...he is cool, calm, collected. He never seems to lose his composure." That sounds exactly like the RG3 we all knew so well at Baylor.

Also from the Lariat, the Baylor Regents have revealed more of their overarching plans for both the new stadium and the old.

2 weeks until football season! Try not to lose your line jerseys, freshmen-you'll need them!
