Fairly quiet weekend for Baylor Athletics, but with the football and volleyball seasons right around the corner it won't be much longer before I have to start putting links behind a cut.
Baylor Soccer drew 1-1 with Notre Dame in the squad's only exhibition match on Sunday, equalizing the Irish in the 88th minute on a goal from freshman Bri Campos. Notre Dame was picked to win the Big East in a pre-season poll. The Bears open the season at Rice next Friday, and the home opener is 1:00 PM next Sunday vs Northwestern State.
Clemson University's SBNation site, Shakin The Southland, looks at whether current Baylor Athletic Director Ian McCaw would be a good fit for their currently open position, and discusses his successes in his current position. From all of us here at Baylor, paraphrased from Lookout Landing: Ian McCaw is ours and you can't have him.
Baylor Volleyball's Torri Campbell was named to the Preseason All Big-12 Squad as the lone representative of the Bears. This is Campbell's third time to earn this honor.
And finally, a brief history of the Baylor mascot.
